Armed citizen saves himself and police

I hope the Deputies injured make a speedy and full recovery. Glad there were not killed.

Though this shows that even when the cops are on the scene, they can not always stop the bad guy. In the end it is up to the individual to look after themselves and their loved ones. Good thing the new boy friend was armed and had the gumption to use his weapon when needed.

It's good that the two deputies will survive, but, at least in part, they are responsible for their own wounds!

The deputies SAW the shotgun, observed the ex-boyfriend's rage, and tried to VERBALLY COMMAND him (?) Sorry, but the deputies SHOULD have disarmed the ex-boyfriend, one way or another! The deputies are lucky to still be alive!

I wasn't there, so I won't try to second-guess how the deputies handled it. I am glad they will survive, and that the vermin was eradicated.

Glad everything turned out O.K.

If it had been ABC.. they would have quoted someone saying that even though it worked out this time, you should leave the guns to the police...

gotta love Fox News

+1 Oldtimer. Those cops displayed some really, seriously, REALLY BAD tactics and situational control. The BG should never have been allowed into the house at all. And how is it that he was able to TURN and shoot both of them? Were they following him in, pleading for him to be a good boy???

They sure did, and they're lucky to be alive. I don't understand what they were doing.

Glad the new BF, with his new gun, dispatched the creep! Hope he pulls out of this, with some time. If I had to do something like he did, and I would, I don't believe I'd ever sleep a full night again in my life.

Sort of a different take on this, note: Check the people your girlfriend has
dated will "sometimes" indicate what type of girl she is. This can work with
either sex.;)

+1

P.S. Was the +1 thing started by someone at this site? Just curious. It is very useful. Sort of like "ditto" on Rush's show.

If you did the right thing, you should have no trouble sleeping. Some people need killing.

Early report say yes they were pleading with him to be good.

The change of heart of the bad guy in this was simply amazing. From a black heart, full of evil and malice, to a perfectly still (possibly perforated) one in just a moment.

I still don't know why anybody doubts the rehabilitative properties of firearms.

Hmmm... and they say guns don't save lives...

This is a dupe from somehere (and I am not sure how current these stats are - I had this emailed to me a while back), but it's a fun little comparison anyway:

Docs vs. Guns on "taking Lives"

Doctors

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.

(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.

(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human Services.

Guns

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80 million)

(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.

(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188.

Statistics courtesy of FBI

So, statistically, doctors are 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
Remember the old saying, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."
NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Lawyers
Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

Hahahahahahahaha!!! Why don't we have a "laughing my head off" smily?

imagining the ex bf's face as he is greeted with a slug to the chest instead of a couple unarmed sheep ready to be slaughtered made me feel kinda warm and fuzzy inside.

+1 Preacherman, It's a good thing her boyfriend knew what he was doing. He deserves a medal.

How soon will Katie Couric interview the boyfriend and ask him why he didn't simply shoot the shotgun out of the BGs hand.

I'm glad that all of the good guys will be okay.
