Some of you might remember the Armed Citizens project that gave away free shotguns to qualified people living in high crime areas. Today I saw an article about them. Some local politicians are wary of the idea.

One said according to the article: 'she supports Second Amendment rights and believes that such a responsibility should include proper training and background checks.'

Well, the whole point of this is to give people proper training, problem solved right?

I'm interested to see if this has any measurable effect on crime.

Check it out:

They did a training session this weekend in Houston, concentrating on an area that my daughter lives in. It's a nice neighborhood with a mix of older residents and young professionals, and they have been forced to endure a steadily increasing number of driveway hijackings and break-ins in recent months. I believe they trained and furnished over 50 guns to residents. This is the first city in which the project has done training and donations, soon to include 15 cities around the nation.

They did tell the people NOT to follow VP Biden's advice before they gave them a shotgun right? :uhoh:
