I function just fine. I'm not frightened, I just know when deck's stacked against me, and work accordingly.

Um, you may not be in California, in metro area.

65-70% of cops in metro/urban CA are Democrats - it's a union thing to protect those pampered pensions their skill sets could never acquire in the private sector...

They'll gladly grab guns to keep their pensions going.

You have documentation as proof, I assume?

Often, I wonder that myself, what with all the cop-bigots that post here. It's the few decent folks I like to interact with that keep me coming back.

Bigots?

Hell, I didn't even THINK of cops as amoral goose-steppers UNTIL I read your series of posts. And I'm not stupid enough to assume that what I learned about your view of the world applies to all cops. But MAN, don't blame other people for seeing what's in front of them.

I just moved from SF

A friend of mine has been a cop since he got back from Nam (i.e a long time)
He grumbles about the idiot demonstraters all the time but pulls the dem lever every election!
We have had long debates....he is totally liberal & pro gun control!
another friend of mine became a cop 3 years ago & was a 2nd amendment kind of guy but now he thinks only cops should carry:banghead: :barf:
I do know one cop that told me to go ahead and carry & if I had to use it against a bad guy to go ahead but leave the scene quickly & they wouldn't look to hard for me if it was a genuine bad guy with a record...
So out of 3 cops one was cool...

The scariest cops I met in CA are from other countries with no tradition of firearms ownership- At least an old school cop like my Nam vet friend will let a good guy go with a warning (even though he is a liberal he is still an old school kind of guy)
I have no idea how a guy/gal raised in asia would treat me with a gun
Actually I did get kicked off a jury once because I was pro gun and the asian born judge told me that CA law means that the 2nd didn't apply in that case

Of course you didn't.

:what: ALL THE COPS ARE OUT TO GET ME.... ALL THE THE MOSLIMS ARE OUT TO GET ME.... ALL THE LIBERALS ARE OUT TO GET ME... ALL THE _______ ARE OUT TO GET ME!!!!!!!!!!!! :what:

Reread all M-Rex's posts and didn't see anything to make me think he was a amoral goose-stepper. But than again ALL cops are BAD.

I wouldn't allow a LOE in my home without a warrent, just as I wouldn't allow any stranger into my home, not to make their job more difficult, but gecause it is my home and the have no damn buisness being in it.
Further, I see no point in being a smart-a$$ to someone who is trying to do their job in a civil manner. If some one treats me in a civil manner, be it a moslim, liberal, cop, or ___________, I will treat them in the same manner, rather than acting like a snot nosed third grader.

Back to the thread...

If I were in the position of the wayward youth with the .25, I would avoid talking to the cops if I had the gun on me, not because all cops are bad, but because I would be breaking the law in most states. I may not agree with that particular law, but the law is the law.

Wandering

It's a different world since 9-11 and the laws have changed. Some States are more friendly to gun owners than others so you must know the law. The carry laws are on the internet, so print them out and keep them handy.
