from what I understand and have heard/read Armslist has been attacked contstanly with lawsuits and such for a long time now by the anti's and the fees were a way for them to keep fighting/open... seems like just another victim of the anti's as with many other places to list and sell between individuals.

I also ignored Armslist went they went Pay to Play, but about 3 months ago I signed back up. Yes it was a CF for about 2 months trying to get ahold of someone, finally did via email, they straightened it out. I'd rather do FTF than GB if at all possible, shipping is now in the neighborhood of $40 to send any long arm and GB fees have inched up, and the transfer agent and sales tax situation has taken a lot of the fun out of BrokeGunner for me anyways. When I place an ad on Armslist I always post my phone number, and yes you will get the scam artists trying to have you fall into their traps, like was said, a usually 1/2 price listing and "I just moved, I'll have to ship it to you" line of dog doodoo.
OP here. My mess finally evaporated. I'll not use Armslist in the future. I'm sure they are trying to run a business, but they need new website managers. I could not get through it and there is no way to contact them that works. That's just incompetence.
