Was watching a "Modern Marvels" show the other night called "Magnums".
It had a segment on the AMU shooting the 300 Win mags. The rifles were based on the Remington Model 700, and they apparantly chamber and fit their own barrels. I could not tell however, what type scope was used to complete these match rifles. I'm assuming that there is a standard scope mounted to these guns and was hoping someone could tell me more about the rifles in general and the scopes in particular.

The USAMU is pretty well stocked with good stuff for their shooters to use. I know some of them use Nightforce scopes and I would imagine that there are some Leupolds there too. I am not 100% sure though.

Depending on the use/shooter/match they use a bunch of optics.

Horus Vision, US Optics, Nightforce, Leupold and Trijicon. I am sure there are others in use, but these are just the ones I have seen.

"...The USAMU is pretty well stocked..." And that's being polite. The AMU Weapons techs that are trained to be more than just gun mechanics. Plus access to really good barrels, bedding, triggers, etc.
"...a standard scope..." Not all shooting matches allow scopes. In any case, a telescopic sight doesn't make any rifle shoot better. If a rifle doesn't shoot well with iron sights, a scope won't help.
Really accurate rifles are daft things. No one part matters. It's a combination of the whole. Including the shooter.
