Hi, I am seeing a brand new Tennesse Arms Brand Bulgarian AK47 for $750. It uses Arsenal parts, minus Bayonet lug. I am wondering, is this gun really worth the high price or not? I know before the election you could have bought any gun for half price. Many say prices will go down, but I am skeptical, the more I read of the incoming president and his cabinent, the more sketchy I feel. Anyway, I would like to get an AK in my collection. I was hoping maybe to get another DPMS, but prices are just outrageous.

What can people tell me of Arsenal brand Bulgarian? Would a WASR or Saiga be a better rifle than this? What about Yugo AK? Why are Yugo Aks so much more than the rest?

I would get more info for us.

I've never heard of "Timothy Arms' and Arsenal parts can be installed by anyone who buys them.

It may not be an Arsenal at all, but a kit gun with "Arsenal" parts.

Yeah, I talked with the owner and I know more about it. It is a Tennessee Arms gun that is manufactured using Arsenal pieces. It is an SSR 85 C-2. From talking to the guy it sounds like a good gun. Most arsenals I see are over $1000, so would an SSR 85 C-2 manufactured by this company be reasonable? I am told Bulgarian AKs are the best of bunch. I would like to get AK , but I cannot really afford more than $750 for one and I don't want to get jacked in the price.

Here is the specs:
This is a BRAND New SEALED in box BULGARIAN AK-47. THESE ARE THE BEST AK-47 EVER MADE THEY HAVE A CHROME LINNED BARREL AND ARE MADE FROM THE BEST PARTS. Manufacturer: TENNESSE GUNS/TG INC Description: AK BULG 762X39 30RD BLACK SYN STK. Additional Desc: Part Number: TGI04BB002 Model: AK. Type: RIFLES Caliber: 762X39. Action: SEMI-AUTO.

These are not "Arsenal" pieces. They are cut up Type 3 AK-47s that were formerly used by the Bulgarian military.

Arsenal has nothing to do with the current condition of this rifle.

It is a factory parts rifle (like a WASR).

Ok, thanks for warning me.. I guess I will avoid this gun.. It looks real nice from the pics and seems like good deal, but its a trap. I should have realized.

I just cannot fork out the extra bucks for an Arsenal. Where Arsenals always expensive like this? Will the price ever go down?

So, can you give me any suggestions of a good AK47 to purcahse that is under $750?

Actually that Saiga sgl-10 runs at least $750 pre-conversion. The Arsenal SLR-107 would be in the same ball park after you bought the conversion parts and had them installed correctly.

Looking at Atlantic Firearms' website there ain't much under $750. A basic Saiga conversion is $629, an Interarms AKM build is $699. Add that to the fact you will probably be waiting at least a few weeks before it ships (not in stock).

We have sold about 300 SSR rifles in the last year or two and they are great rifles not even close to a WASR , we have sold tons of these for the last 4 -6 years and feel we can speak with a bit of experience on the rifles & their track record . However some of the rifles were brought in and the brakes were welded to the bbl this was not cool ours are threaded with removable brakes so this has not been a issue the only other thing that we would point out is the rifles have a base parkerizied finish and it could me much better. Otherwise they are a nice solid fixed stock rifle .
