Here is an Astra Police .38 special revolver. It is an Smith & Wesson N-frame "Look alike" and is a real nice looking copy(Including the four screws on the side plate with one on the front of the trigger guard)! It is mechanically in great shape. However, the original wooden target grips are somewhat banged up(Especially on one side)however, the camera has made this to look worse than it really is! The gun itself, hasn't been beat up-but, it does have a little "Character" in the form of having a little bluing worn off at the tip of the muzzle and a little on the sides of the barrel-and, on the backstrap. It has a nicely shaped hammer spur, which resembles the looks of the hammer spur on a Colt Python. The big shocker to me, was how smooth and slick the double action trigger pull was, whenever I had first tried it on this gun! Wow! Better than any of my classic S&W revolvers(Was hard to believe-but, true!)and, feels almost as good as my Colt Python! This Astra locks up tighter than a vault! The timing is perfect! I think that I'm going to have fun shooting this revolver! It weighs about four ounces more than an S&W Model 19(K-frame)! Look at the pictures and see what you might think about this Astra-as it was never allowed to have been imported into the USA in this .38 special caliber! Otherwise, it is the exact same revolver as an Astra .357!
