There is an Astra A-100 at a gun store that I go to frequently and it has started calling my name. It looks and feels a lot like a Sig. It seems that it might be a Spanish copy of the Sig. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you own these, are they reliable? This gun is like new nad it has been there a long time. I can probably get it for $350. Is this a good deal or not?

I have an A-100 .45 and it's not a bad shooting gun by any means. I don't shoot it very often, but I don't reload .45 so most of my ammo budget goes to the calibers I reload; it has nothing to do with the gun itself.

Astra has been out of business for a while now, but parts are still available for the A models, so I don't think you have to really worry too much about that. As far as the price goes, I can't really say, but I think that might be a bit much. I could be wrong though, so maybe someone else will chime in on it.

It is about a middlin' deal, see if they will bargain. How many mags does it come with? You may want to check magazine availability and price before buying.

When you think about Spanish pistols, Astra-Llama-Star; Astra sticks out as a fine pistol and mfgr. The A-100 is one of the best..Check it out thoroughly; if it passes your inspection: buy it!

I had an A-100 in 9mm many years back and really enjoyed it.Was reasonably accurate and shot everything without a hiccup, easy take down to clean it as well.Wish I still had it actually.

I've got one in .45ACP, Feels really good in my hand and shoots great SA. I got it before I totally gave up on DA/SA guns. Like it a bit more than I do my SIG P220 (the old style with the heel mag release), but not nearly as well as I like my SAO SIG 220R.

My main caution would be how many spare mags it comes vs. and how many you want, last time I saw one they were asking $60 for it (new in the Interarms shrink-wrap card).

Spare mags for the 9mm version seem pretty easy to find and not too out of line with most other similar mags.
