ATF at local gun show

Saw some at a booth at a gun show in Allen last year. Wouldn't give their name but you would never ever have guessed they were ATF by looking at them.

They (1 woman, 2 men) looked like realtors or bank managers. Particularly the 40 something woman who I would have bet $100 was a realtor. You really can't judge a book by it's cover.

I guess the ATF is taking a page from the Sky Marshalls and looking more incognito and diverse. They were friendly and nice to talk to. Didn't discuss anything heated but they didn't seem to like some of the dumber things the ATF has done over the past few decades any more than I.

I've seen them at gun show set up at a table. I ever saw them handing out donuts once. They are inspectors and will not perform any law enforcement functions while at shows. They will not come around and question anyone about anything or do any snooping.

The Agents, the ATF cops are often at gun shows but don't advertise their presence. The one agent that I used to see at shows on the East Coast paid his own way in. I don't know if he was on duty trying to blend in or just interested in seeing the multicultural splendors of a gun freak show.

Please do not harass the inspectors that set up at gun shows. They are trying to build some goodwill. Aggrivate them, and they will likely take it out on the next dealer they visit. Chest thumping sounds good on the internet, but leave it at home when you go to gun shows.

Sorry, just because "compliance agents" are not law enforcement doesn't mean they are not part of the problem Kissing their ring just encourages them to oppress us further. We need to run the ATF out of gun shows. They need to be shouted down and thrown out for their complicity in arming drug cartels and known convicted felons.

I for one LOVE having ATF IOI's at gun shows. They are helpful and often have extra forms and stuff that I can use. i've yet to see any dealer kissing their ring. (and if you aren't a dealer you really don't have any relationship with an IOI to get upset about)

Really?
The folks you see at gun shows have nothing to do with that and in fact are the ones the blew the whistle on the whole mess.

Don't like ATF or their actions? Spend more time shouting down and throwing out the elected representatives that give them their authority.
