ATF: Comments Open on Multiple Long Gun Sales Reporting

This is only for the proposed mandatory collection of information from FFL holders in the SW region. It is not even remotely legal to do this.

The comment period on proposed changes to the law is a very valuable tool to us in the political process in this country in making sure that we offer clear and reasonable opposition or support to these proposed changes to how the law is implemented. It puts our voice in public and shows regulators and elected officials there is grass roots interest in what is being done.

Moronic and hysterical comments can not help our cause and are likely to hurt us. Remember that they will publish each and every comment and this is a public face to the rest of the country on how well we can conduct ourselves. Please make sure that you read and re-read your comments in a good spell/grammar checking system before copying and pasting into an email to the BATFE.

Yeah, lets give them all the info they need to make a record and come and confiscate our weapons when they decide to make the USA like GB and Australia!!!!!!

If you're worried about "getting on some list" deterring your participating in this process then it is absurd to participate on any RKBA website thinking that doesn't put you on some list.

hso is right on target.

The sure way to end up with serious restrictions or even confiscation is to give up and do nothing. On the other hand, a flood of well-written responses can blow this proposal out of the water.

If Uncle Sam really wants to “go for the guns,” they’ll start by picking up all of the 4473 forms now in dealer’s hands, and that would give everyone plenty of warning. From a political viewpoint this isn’t going to happen because too many incumbent members of Congress know what would happen in the next following election.

It would be more then foolish to worry about something that isn’t going to happen.

Tin foil hattery, fear, embitterment and other defeatist approaches are never going to contribute to our struggle. You don't have to march and chant and demand that the government and society change or put you in jail to shut you up. A simple email sure isn't much to expect.

I subscribe to the Gun Rights Examiners and when I read the blog, as well as the comment, I did the only thing I could think of. I sent in my Comment, and then posted the links on three gun websites.

I'm sure that there are several ways and blogs to answer to the ATF comment session, but I posted the only one I had available. Citizens Committee has a responce as well as others.

As far as being paranoid about getting on a list, the last time I looked it was still The United States Postal Service. Do you get gun mail?!!!!!

At least I tried to disseminate the information and will send copies to my Senators and Congressman.
