This was in my e-mail from ISRA when I got home this afternoon. I guess it's going to mean another trip to Springfield, maybe more then one. Who's going with me?

BLAGOJEVICH TAPS SCHUMER'S GUN CONTROL ACE FOR LAST MINUTE PUSH FOR SEMI-AUTO BAN

This will be a critical week for Illinois hunters, sportsmen, and other law-abiding firearm owners.

With the current legislative session winding down towards a late May adjournment, Blagojevich, Daley, and their gun grabbing pals are frantically trying to get a ban on semiautomatic firearms through the General Assembly.

In the past, the semiautomatic ban has been dead meat from the get-go. But now, Blagojevich and his pals are pulling out all stops in a last ditch effort to take your guns away from you.

Bradley Tusk, a top aide to NY Senator and rabid gun grabber Charles Schumer, has been called in to draft and shepherd a semiautomatic firearm ban. Tusk will be ramrodding his proposal this week in the legislature.

To the gun-grabbers, getting a semiautomatic firearm ban in Illinois is a top priority. By doing so, they'd create a "California" or "Massachusetts" smack dab in the middle of the country. It's very important that you begin calling your state representative and senator this week and tell them "NO" to any gun bans.

Schumer once said it was his intention to, "...hammer guns on the anvil of relentless legislative strategy!" Well, folks, Schumer has placed that hammer in Bradley Tusk's hand, and sent him to Illinois to hammer the daylights out of your rights.

Are you ready to bow down in subservience to a guy like Schumer?

Something like this will not only affect Illinois residents, it will affect us all. These cretins are famous for "ratcheting"-taking legislation from elsewhere and using it as a pattern for other states.

My rep is Dan Rutherford and he has already told me that he will vote against any and all anti gun legislation. More people need to be informed, they cant take away our homeland security rifles.

id like to see those grabbers take a walk alone through the robert taylor homes at night so they can see how well their gun control works .

when you going Jeff? And how long would we be gone?

They will have hearings on the bill. When they do we want to fill the capitol building. You can ride with me, it'll just be a day trip.

Jeff

PS you won't have to carry the radio ;)

I guess it's about time I make a trip for my Illinois RKBA rights.
Anyone from downstate (south western) wantto make the road trip?
I'll even drive.

Dan Rutherford is my Rep. too. I've sent him a letter on this anyway, and if possible I'll take off work to go to any rally. Is there something planned? If so, when?

Just got an e-mail from a state rep. who told me there is little if any chance any such bill will be voted on this session.

Also noticed that the one pushing the issue (in addition to Evil Governor Blagslade) is Chuck Schumer. He's got some public relations (ethics related) problems in his current N.Y. reelection race and appears to be fishing for positive headlines. For instance, Schumer has pushed, and got, a investigation reopened into the murder of Emmitt Till, a black youth from Chicago, in 1955 in Mississippi. (Hard to believe that's the job of a U.S. Senator from N.Y., but, don't you know, U.S. Senators are omnipotent.)

Likely this gun issue is also just Silly Season fallout. Potentially deadly for our rights, yes, but still unlikely to result in any fatal wounds at this time
