The state senator from District 18, Rebekah Warren, has taken it upon herself to introduce legislation that would repeal Michigan's Self Defense Act. SB-611 would, if enacted repeal the Self Defense Act put into law in 2006. I strongly urge you contact your state senator and politely but firmly tell them you are opposed to this bill and get it squashed. Unless of course you don't want to be able to defend yourself or your family.

with a republican majority gov, senate, and house I doubt it will go anywhere. however I will shoot my senator a note. We should be contacting our senators urging them to support the repeal of gun free zones which is in committee now and urge them to ask our Gov to support this and not veto it like he did before. ( I think it would have passed but Sandy Hook happened a few days earlier and it was a knee jerk reaction on his part) maybe this time he won't veto it.
