I would like to invite everyone to come out and shoot with us. We hosted the 2003 Indiana State match in September and the feedback we got from the shooters was very positive. We are located in the southwest corner of Indiana, so its easy to get to from KY, TN, and IL.

We also shoot a VERY GOOD monthly match the first Saturday of every month at 11am. Be there by 10:30 or so to register and get set up. Our current fees are $13 for the first gun, and $8 for the second. In the colder months we shoot 4 stages, and in the nicer weather usually 5-6 stages. We also have a nice house set up and its always a match favorite. You will be hard pressed to find a better club level monthly match in the midwest.

The Regional match will be June 5th and we are taking the first 90 shooters. I'd love to have some GT members come out and shoot with us. If you pre-register you will recieve a free match shirt, and lunch will be catered for everyone.

I took the below information off our flyer.....

If you have any questions just drop one of us an email.

Opie, what exit is that off I-64. I know where Jasper(National Forest) and Haubstadt(Evansville) are. Not sure where Redbrush is. Somewhere in between?

Garrett, You will want to take exit 29b off of I64 onto 164 south. The range itself is in Newburgh IN. If you type in Newburgh IN into mapquest you will see 164 running just to the west of it.

I actually live in Evansville, and the range is 25 minutes from my house so it sounds like you know the general area. Newburgh is about 5 miles East of Evansville.

We will work on getting some good directions made up for everyone in the near future.

Brian

Thanks Opie. I have a good idea of where you are now. I usually pass by 164 on the way to Haubstadt to watch the dirt cars (my other vice). I might try to drop in down there some Saturday.

Sounds Great!

We would be glad to have you!

Most of our matches are concealment unless its 105* outside, so don't forget a vest/cover garment.

OK Gang.....

The entry forms are starting to roll in now. If you want to shoot the match get those entry forms in ASAP!

Once I get them all in I will try to update the boards with the number of shooters in each division and classification for you.

Brian

Still have room for more shooters!

We are only taking 90 shooters so dont wait until the last minute.

Match Director Guy Minnis sent me some info on a couple of the stages this year, here you go:

Here is some info on a couple of the stages, just to get you excited:

We will have two house stages. One house stage will be a par time course of fire. You will be a bomb tech trying to move a bomb out of the house before it explodes. It is a biker's club house and they arrive as you are attempting to remove the ticking bomb. One hell of gun battle develops as you shoot and move the bomb until you are able to put the bomb in the bomb trailer before it detonates.

The other house stage will find you in bed asleep when you suffer a home invasion. You have to get out of bed, go to your night stand and retrieve your weapon and take on the home invaders.

There will be two car stages. One car stage involves your car being hijacked and you shoot your way out and try to make it inside a nearby liquor store to call the police. You are really having a bad day, because when you open the door to go inside and a robbery is in progress and you have to shoot your way out that situation.

The other car stage is "Officer Down II". We will have a police vehicle on the bay and you will be cop involved in a shootout at the end of a vehicle pursuit. The lights and siren will be activated while you are trying to take out the bad guys and get to your wounded partner. If you have never shot and listened to a siren wailing, you haven't lived. (This will be a real Evansville PD car with sirens and lights on)

There will be a camping out stage where your gun is inside your pack and you are attacked by pit bulldogs. You try to make it down the wooded path to your car and you have to take on that damn old bike gang again.

These are a few of the stages that we will be shooting. 12 stages of fire and 150 rounds of ammo. This will be a really fun match to shoot.

Basically, we tried to design stages to meet every challenge we could think of. Using cover, shooting on the move, strong hand shooting, weak hand shooting, gun in a drawer, gun on a shelf, gun inside a pack, gun inside a brief case, and gun on the ground. There will be shooting from a kneeling position, standing position, and prone position. Don't worry, plenty of stages will have the gun in your holster.

The attached picture is your truely shooting the IN State Match last year at Red Brush on the "Officer Down" stage. As you can see that is a real PD cruiser and it will be back this year!!

Thanks Jake!!

Guy and I were talking about you over lunch after our monthly match yesterday and we really appreciate the all of the hard work you have put into the regional match. I shot my first time in IDPA at Red Brush in March and shot again in April
Several friends went with me in April.
We all decided it is one of the best bunch of guys we have shot with anywhere.
Everyone was very helpful getting us started and answering our questions.
I would recomend anyone to try out there range.

WOW!!!!

What a match!!!

I really want to thank all the shooters who came out and shot with us this weekend. We had shooters all the way from California and Canada!

We ended up with 94 shooters and we did not have any problems that I know about. I met some really nice people out there over the last couple of days and ran into some old friends as well. Our prize table had $21,000 worth of prizes this year. Needless to say our shooters were VERY happy. I think the smallest prize we had was a small range bag with a pair of ahrends grips and a bottle of wine in it. Jake Martins took care of our prize table and he went overboard for us. BTW, Jake does this for a couple of major matches each year on a totally volunteer basis, hell of a guy.

I got really lucky and the guy who was going to beat me had a horrible malfunction so I took 1st place in SSP SS, of course that bumped me into expert since there were umpteen million SSP SS shooters there. Damnit Glen, clean your glock next time!

I also ended up winning a Smith and Wesson 1911, so needless to say I am pretty happy!

I will try to post some pictures as they start to come in.

Thanks to everyone who came out and shot with us this year, we look forward to seeing you back for the State match next year. We are trading off with another club, one year we do Regional and the next we do State.

I hope match results will be posted at www.redbrush.org within a week or so.

Take care, Brian
