For the past 60 years, gun enthusiasts have been firing rounds at the San Gabriel Valley Gun Club, the largest shooting range in Southern California.

Please write or call the gun club to voice your support. Don't let the GFWs run us outta town. :fire:

I saw this on the news. I am thinking the SGGC is going to close. As soon as city council members start talking about lead poisening and gun safety, I got the hint they are going to shut it down. Doesn't mean I like it, but that is my gut feeling.

I especially like how people move next to a shooting range or some other similar noise maker like a race track or airfield and then proceed to complain about the noise and how they offending, existing noise maker should have to move. Simply amazing.

I wouldn't doubt theres some developers behind it, the city council is probably thinking about all the taxes on new homes that could be built there.

SGGC was there a long time before any houses were built in that area.

the noise thing is a tough one.
seems like they moved there, they should put up with it, but that's politics.

BUT= maybe the people at the club should consider banning non jacketed bullets or whatever.
i know in some places you can only use steel shot on birds for the lead reason.

at least get that point OUT of the antis argument, because lead poisoning is a very big , very real issue.

also making compromise makes things smoother usually

The noise issue should be a non-issue. CA has had a "range protection" law regarding noise complaints on the books since 1997. As long as the range was opened before any local noise level laws were passed, it is exempt.

SB 517 Range Protection law
