Does anybody here in Austin sell milsurp ammo? I was going to take my Mosin with me to the ranch this weekend and realize that I only have about 20 rounds. No fun in that.

I don't recall ever seeing any. I don't really look at ammo at McBrides, maybe that is an option. Might call Heritage Firearms at 183 & Anderson Mill. Maybe Sportsman's Warehouse in Round Rock.

also try Sportsman's Finest on 2244 near Highway 71. Never bought ammo there but they seemed to have a varied supply.

Sportsmans Wearhouse in Round Rock will be your best bet. If they don't have any you really might have to look at Acadmey and see if they have the 20 round boxes of "Monarch" or S&B ammo.

I have not seen any mil-surp from sportsman's warehouse. If you are looking for 5.56 mil-surp, Red's Indoor Range North sells them for $5.50 a box.

If it's $5.50 for a box of 20, Walmart sells 223 Remington for close to the same price, or maybe a little cheaper.

Might give Tex-Guns on Manchaca just N of Stassney a try. They carry a lot of odd stuff, I don't have a found number handy, but they have a website with one on it.

You could also go to the Saxet gun show before you head to the ranch. It's this weekend at north Lamar about a mile South of Braker lane.

2nd Advanced Armaments, Sam usually carrys milsurp ammo. Also Sportsman's Warehouse might have some Wolf 7.62*54 in stock too, I've seen it there before. And the funshow will be in town this weekend. Of course if your from one of the other Austin's then all this info is moot.:p

try the SAXET gun show this weekend. its on N. Lamar Blvd. between Rundberg and Braker across from Chuy's Restaurant. it's open 9 am to 6 pm Saturday and 9 am to 5 pm Sunday.

Thanks for the late entries guys, but the ranch was last weekend and the gun show is this. Of course, if I could find a working flux capacitor at the gun show then maybe I could take the ammo I purchase back.......

Well thanks anyways though. I ended up not getting to shoot that much because we took the afternoon to go to the Goldthwaite Gun Show. Best $3 dollars that I've ever spent (if you like people watching:D )
