I just put a Auto-Ordanance 1911 on Hold at the local FFL. Was just wondering what the general consensus was about that firearm. anyone have one? Common issues? Any feedback would be appreciated!
Thank you for the replies, i got to cycle it a few times in store, it felt pretty smooth, hopefully it shoots well, if not i dont have much of an issue gettin it worked on!
One thing I've noticed within the last few months is the previously rather square front strap has changed to a more rounded profile much like the Colt's 1911's. I consider that an improvement for AO.
AOs made in West Hurley were hit and miss. I had a good one a few years back. They were the lower end of 1911s, though, like the Rock Island of it's day but Rock Island now makes a nice 1911. If it's made after Kahr bought it, chances are it's a decent gun.
