Finally found some powder at local store it
Autocomp I have never used this before the books
Show I good load Data range
Im going to work some loads
In 9&40 anyone use this powder
How is it working out my guns
Are not compensated

I bought several pounds of it when I could not find my favorite HP38/W 231. It meters well and I find it not much different than the HP 38. It's a little slower powder but I can load pretty much any handgun caliber with it. I have no Compensated guns other than a 1911 that has a extra comp bushing.:)

If I every use it up, I will not bother buying it again. Jut seems like you use a little more of it.

I love Win Autocomp. Actually the best load I have for my 9mm is and Autocomp load. Definitely most accurate and easiest shooting for sure.

I use it out of a Walther PPS 9mm.

I've been using autocomp for some of my pistol loads. I reckon it might be too slow for light weight 45 ACP bullets. And it wouldn't be my first choice for 38 special. But it has worked just fine for most everything else. And it meters great.

Try shooting at night. I think it has flash suppressants in it. Just a little blue flame.

I also have no comps.

I think of it as a clean burning, flash suppressed, better metering Unique. Usually loads are just a tad bit under Unique loads, but always check a manual. You'll find data for it on the Hodgdon website and in the Hornady manual in 9mm and 40 S&W.

going to start loads with the 9mm first with 115gr lrn its what I have
going to try 4.4 and 4.6 @ 1.15 see how they fly, have you guys noticed
if it likes the warmer loads or does it do well at the start loads ?

Like most powders, especially ball powders, you will get the best results up near the top of the load range but that doesn't mean you have to be there.

I haven't tried it yet but a shooting buddy is using a lot of it. He's loading for the 9mm, 40 S&W and limited 45 Auto ammo with good success. Like said above, it's a lot like W231 but a little slower. Also, just because it's suitable for use with a compensator doesn't require you to use one. He has noticed less flash with AutoComp than most other powders in it's range. It produces good accuracy and velocity in the 9mm and 40 S&W in his pistols.

I like A/C quite a lot. It does tend to like the upper end of the load range. I use it in 9mm, .40 and .45. Haven't used it yet under 115 lead, but 100gr plated round nose works really well for the 9mm. My .40 is compensated and it loves 7.5 gr of A/C under a plated 155 bullet. The .45 ate 6.0 to 6.6 gr under a plated 230 round nose, but with a little soot on the case at the lighter end. 6.3 gr works well for me for a target round. Good luch and enjoy!
