I'm picking up a Rock Island Officer's size 1911 in a week or so and want a good IWB holster for it. Are there any other good holsters out there like the VM-2 that are actually available?
Sure, Milt will make you what you want. I have a VM-2. But the price was about $120; and about 5 month wait. It is worth the $$ and the wait. Well made, and I'm a happy camper. Good Luck.
An equivalent in function to the VM2 (IWB, permits reholstering without collapsing, "tuckable") is the Comp-Tac MTAC. You might have to wait a few weeks, but that is better than 5-6 months. (BTW, I am very pleased with the Milt Sparks Watch Six, long wait notwithstanding.)
His Canute IWB holster is much like a VMII (and his Striker I is similar only with clips instead of loops) and at $70 his holsters appear to be a pretty good deal.

Agreed. I have a Canute myself. I did not mention it earlier because it is not "tuckable," as the VM is. It can be had with an optional lip reinforcement like the VM's, but I got mine without it.
