What makes an “assault” weapon?

A bayonet lug; how many mass bayonetings can you think of?
Grenade launcher: Even if I had one, where do I get ammo for it?
A barrel shroud: Even the legislators behind the bans do not know what they’re for.
A Pistol grip: I find it easier to shoot from the hip without one.
A vertical forward grip: Same as above.
A collapsing/folding stock: Does that really increase killing power?
A flash suppressor: So what?
Semi-Auto fire: Like many target, deer, predator, and varmint rifles in use across the country.
Detachable “high-capacity” magazine: The M-1 Garand can be reloaded quickly and there’s no detachable magazine there.
Made for the battlefield? Ours aren’t select fire, and they meet current gun laws. Maybe if they were made in pastels and not evil black. “Hello Kitty” versions would be nice.
I heard one TV pundit say that Glock pistols qualify as “assault” weapons. Go figure. Good thing I have XD pistols, 1911s, and revolvers. I do though; have a Nazi Hi-Power Grandpa picked up during the Battle of the Bulge. Is that in jeopardy?

After there’s a new AWB, wanna bet they classify our deer, woodchuck, and coyote rifles as “sniper” weapons and try them next? After all, who “needs” to lay down accurate fire at ranges greater than 100 yards?

As a cop, I’d rather go up against a street thug with an AK than a cowboy with lever action 30-30.
Our rights have been getting infringed upon since 1934. Knee-jerk reactions are not solutions.

ARRRGH!!!:banghead:

The liberals have already done that.
