Awesome Full-auto Video

I watched that whole thing to see them fire the blackpowder cannons and they only took one token shot.:cuss:

Was at Knob Creek and my reaction to shooting full auto is just like the woman who was jumping up and down all the time. First time I shot full auto-couldn't get the grin off my face for days! :D Wish I could have been there!

I just don't understand that. I've fired full-autos and had the privilege of living with a SAW for six months, but I just don't get the excitement. Maybe it's because the Army tells you to fire 3-5 round or 6-9 round bursts. Is it more fun to just cut loose, is that what I'm missing?

RE: the cart-mounted .50-cal

Let's say the guy walking sideways and firing the Deuce trips and falls in the direction of travel. Seems like it would eventually happen. Wouldn't he inadvertantly swing the gun around and decapitate the guy who's pushing? Is there something limiting the gun's traverse?

Eleven Mike, I think things are a lot more fun when you "can"
and not when you "have to".

..... and just cutting lose looks like a blast! (I know... real punny).

I agree with you. I had fired full auto stuff in the military. I had fired a bunch of full auto stuff at ranges and what not just because I happened to be standing there when someone had something. I never got a real big kick out of it but I always thought that if I owned my own machine gun and could shoot at anything I wanted, it would be a lot more fun. So, I bought a machine gun and realized I was wrong. I still don't really enjoy it. I owned a machine gun for 4-5 years and only fired it on a couple occasions. What I enjoy about shooting is using my skill to hit stuff. If I can do it in one shot, that is the biggest thrill. I have never understood why anyone would enjoy just firing a gun at nothing just for the sake of firing a gun. Just like a lot of the guys in that video: just firing the gun down range just to fire it. Never understood that. To me, it would be like sitting in the driveway and reving the engine of a car but never driving it. I once went to a shooting range at the Angles Crest National Forest outside LA. There were dozens of people shooting on this "range", but there wasn't a single target. They all were just firing the gun into the dirt  This would be a great way for the blind to enjoy shooting. You could also accomplish the same thing by firing blanks.

But, we do have local machine gun matches where we fire machine guns at targets where accuracy and time are factors. I sometimes participate in these matches. It is fun, but no more fun than shooting IPSC/IDPA or any other action shooting sport.

On the other hand, firing a cannon at something and trying to hit it would be a gas.

Only fired a full auto once and it was a gas. I'd like to do it enough for it to be no big deal... I'm to cheap to get one, does seem like a waste of ammo. Now if I could get a full auto in .22 long rifle, that would be the ticket! :D
