Awesome New Gun Website!

Hello everyone. I was wondering if I could get your opinion on my new gun website.

The site is still in Beta for the time being so if there are any errors or anything they should be fixed soon. I will also be adding in a new kind of forum in the near future. I would love to hear your thoughts. Please feel free to register it's completely free.

The basic idea of the website is a place to store all the awesome gun related things you see online. I can't count how many times I have seen an awesome setup that someone has and I said to myself "one of these days" I started saving images and links in notepad on my computer and in Evernote until one day I realized it would be pretty awesome to be able to store all the great videos, images, articles etc. that I found online in one place.

It's taken about 2 years of planning and development and it's finally almost finished

So its a Pinterest for guns, no? Good on you in creating it.

I say this not to be offensive or condescending, but out of curiosity. Im a developer and am always on the lookout for new ideas for apps and websites, and one of the questions I ask my self is, "what sets this apart?" And I ask you the same - what does your site do that Pinterest doesnt? Does Pinterest have an anti-gun/weapon/etc policy? Again, I'm all for gun-related anything, and sincerely hope your site is a raging success - Im just trying to understand the niche you are looking to fill and what sets your site apart from the competition.

Hi! Thanks for the nice comments. You have a good point in asking what I do better than pinterest. The first thing is Pinterest is a huge website owned by a huge company and it has just about everything in the world where as Becauseguns is for gun enthusiasts so it's very specific. Because of this ff you go to pinterest you will find 95% of the posts are "Come and Take it Molan Labe" kind of Facebook re-posts the other 5% are some really great images of guns but most are stock images or wallpapers etc. The idea behind BecauseGuns is that first it's a place where you can keep all of your gun related material in one spot.

I don't know about you but I have a list on my computer of guns I like, things I want to check out, a silencer or something that is on my wish list and folders filled with tons of glamor gun pics that I love.

I also have hundreds of links to videos and articles of stuff I want to remember.

The other thing BecauseGuns has going for it is all people who join immediately follow my account which has the latest up to the last 24 hours ( maybe slightly longer these days lol ) news, articles, videos, images etc. Everything is hand aggregated. I actually watch every video I post, I read every article etc. So I know there is no garbage. Just the best information from the net.

I am also not finished with the site the pinterest style homepage is just the beginning, I have in the works a lot of different stuff. I am not just quitting with the pinterest site.

Seems to me that since it has the word guns in it many of the "safe surfing" software as well as business firewall computer systems might block it.

Many folks surf and post from work but might find your site blocked just because it has guns in the url.

Just a thought and I'm not sure it is a valid one.

I'm at work. The filter at this site does not block it.

I bet the filter at my other job does block it, like it blocks THR.
