A package came in the mail today, 250 rounds of Federal Tactical 9 Pellet 00 Buck. The best part? Due to a connection at an LE agency I only had to pay shipping, $30 total! 250 rounds of 00 Buck for 12cents a round! I am fairly excited. :D:D:D:D:D

Me four...does "connection" mean that you aren't LE but just made taxpayers foot your bill anyways?

The long and short of it, they had some ammo that was given to them by their department, not taken from duty stashes and they already had enough 12 gauge, thus I got it.

I got some free .30-06, .22 and some other various stuff from my dad who got it from a LE acquisition. I think he said that they were clearing out old stuff that was taking up space. I didn't complain one bit.

I love how people sit up on their high horse and pretend they would turn down a good deal on ammo, no matter where it came from (legally of course).

Just my take, this would be something to celebrate with silence and a big grin, lest you not warrant the free goody list in the future owing to complicactions arrising from this post.
I now realizing this, got ahead of myself in my excitement. None-the-less I don't feel bad about receiving it or telling anyone.

Some of us do not have selective morality, we have enough issues with all of the "free" stuff the current gov't gives away

I apologize for posting this if it was inappropriate or offended, I don't feel bad about taking ammo that was going to sit unused and I don't think that this is any indication of my "morals".

However if this is going to turn into a big political discussion, or arguments between varying moral camps, mods please feel free to close.

Rob,

Don't feel bad.

Consider it a tax rebate.

Besides what the hell is wrong with surplus ammo getting distributed to people? It's SURPLUS.

Hell, I didn't feel bad when I was buying brass and ammo cans cheap at government auctions by the truckload. No one complained when Talon was receiving all of the surplus ordnance, demilling it, and selling it for huge profits to the reloading community. All of that was taxpayer funded.

Jeez. You'd think this guy put a baby in a microwave oven or something. It's surplus ammo. Big deal.

I was just wondering how many would say "I can't take it. It would feel wrong"

I appreciate the support, I stand by my decision to accept it, but I just feel bad about stirring the pot here.

Man, I used to have the local cops give me all their brass for free (stipulation was I couldn't sell it for profit).

I actually had to start turning DOWN brass when I hit multiple five gallon BUCKETS full of 9mm, 40S&W, and 223. I had more than I can ever possibly go through in my lifetime. I gave a TON of it away to friends, to people who were just getting started reloading, etc. I still have enough to last me "forever".

Didn't feel bad about it then, don't feel bad about it now.

I dont blame you for taking it, it just shows how our gov't, big and small waste money. everyone is crying theres not enough $ to go around but we all see how tax dollars get wasted.

It would be wise to direct such angst towards bigger fish, and not fellow gun owners.

I'd take it in a heartbeat and say "I'll take more any time you have it."

We've (taxpayers) already SPENT the money. I'll dispose of it in a worthwhile fashion. I promise. :)

No need to crucify our fellow members for taking advantage of it. If he didn't do it, the next guy would have.
