Very refreshing to see a photo like this, amongst all sorts of baseless accusations of US "brutality" in Iraq.

That's an Israeli soldier in the OP, not an American. Look at the helmet and uniform.

how far will it go.....

Will this thread take the puns too far and be closed....
Will the SS grenade go off taking out the kitten....

Tune in tomorrow to find out!

Ah, you're right. An American would be wearing beige desert camo, in the Middle Eastern theatre, would they not? Sorry for the mistake. Either way, it's still nice to see that sort of picture, when we're faced with a media who focuses primarily on the negative.

I agree

Heisler, what is the point of your post?

Heisler,

What point are you trying to make by posting a picture of a German SS (I think) soldier in the same thread with an Israeli (I think) ?

You're being too touchy. It's a photo of soldiers with a kitten.

Heh. If you've been to Israel, you'll know that the place is swarming with feral cats. And I do mean swarming...

Candiru, I’d suggest that you are being overly touchy.

I politely asked about the point being made of posting a picture of a Nazi in the same thread as an Israeli (if indeed that is correct).

As I’m neither a German nor an Israeli (nor Jewish) I have no personal feelings on the subject other than an interest in wondering why some one might post a picture of a solider whose purpose was the genocide of first solider.

It appears that it was just a thoughtless post as heisler said he was not making a point.

Candiru, in that I have only an intellectual interest and no emotional involvement in the subject matter I’d suggest that you are the only one being too touchy.

Respectfully,

On second thought, this one's done. Gun content is really only tangential, and posting a face-off of soldiers-petting-kittens pictures is only going to end in flame wars.
