Very reliaible with any hard ball, not the type of gun i would carry with one up the spout

I shoot Fiocchi hard ball in mine. I have heard others rave about glaser ammo but I have not tried it.
Its ok to take the slide and barrel off to clean it but if you take the frame competely apart I can say from experience that getting it back together makes you understand that John Browning was a lot more clever than you are
I picked up an old rusted beater for next to nothing years ago and took it completely apart to clean it up. I had to replace a couple of parts to get it to work reliably again. Mine has never failed to fire or eject. I have only run a couple hundred rounds through it. But it is known to work well. It will shoot as fast as I can pull the trigger.
If you take a look at the firing pin mechanism you would understand that there is no safety mechanism in the pistol at all to prevent an accident if you cock the pistol with a round in the chamber. So the advice from the posters above is well taken and just to put a point on it it would be downright dangerous to have a round in the chamber unless you intend to shoot it right now!
I just use clp to clean mine and keep it very lightly oiled and wiped down.
They are great shirt pocket companions!

They are very good for a backup deep concealment pistol; I have had the opportunity to shoot a few, and I used to own a Bauer clone of it in stainless.
I agree, don't stick one up the spout to carry it in your pocket. I used to load it with the Winchester pellet-nose rounds. It never failed to feed.

I only use hardball. Per the above, if you CCW this weapon, carry it without one in the chamber and practice drawing, racking, and dumping a whole mag at a time. Use hardball (better penetration).

I'm way late to this party, but use of Fiocci hardball and Mec-Gar mags in mine have resulted in much reliable shooting.
Advice against C1 carry is good, as there ain't too much keeping that little striker from springing forward, even with the safety on. A good little "bump" and that would be all she wrote.
I think I picked up a couple of Mec-Gars from CDNN.
Helpful tip: Just my opinion, but even though I own the .25, I think a Beretta .22 or maybe one of the NAA mini's in .22 or .22 mag would be a better option for a SD BUG. My Baby lives in the safe, as it's heavier than the P32.
