ThE trigger has more travel than I'm used to, it goes on and on. I fedexed it to MR for $95 and got it back witha note saying they put 30 rnds. through it. It is still the same. I called and questioned them and what I was told my other guns didn't do that because they are SA. One is a Colt python and it's sa couldn't be better. But he was correct my others are sa? Is this the way DA / SA auto loaders are suppose to be. The gun can drive tacks. But I would like it better with no travel . JMB

That's how a DA/SA gun works. The trigger has all that take up before you feel it stop at the SA point because that distance is needed for the DA pull. If you were to lower the hammer or dry fire it while empty you'd feel and see that the hammer begins to move back from the first part of the trigger pull and continue through that whole "dead zone" that you feel if pulling it in SA mode. But if you cock the hammer all you feel until the trigger bow engages with the sear is the trigger return spring because it isn't pushing the hammer back.

When shooting you can avoid this with the first pull by simply pulling the trigger back initially until you feel it conact the sear where it stops. From there simply pull it as if it were one of your SA guns. For subsequent shots in a string learn to work the reset click so you don't need to fully release the trigger and pass through all that lost motion again.
