Hi! I am kinda new to THR (and forums in general) so sorry if this thread isn't in the right place. I have recently caught a seemingly terminal illness from my brother who, when he heard I was getting married, went out and got me an Armalite AR-50 as a wedding gift (The future wife was not quite as thrilled as I was). To keep a long story short I cant get enough of collecting these masterpieces of engineering and even spread the germ to my friends.
We are having a bachelor party at Knob Creek Gun Range up near Louisville KY and I feel like something is missing from our arsenal (or maybe I just want to get another gun). So far we have as follows (not all mine but belong to myself, my brother and a couple of friends)

Armalite AR-50
Arsenal AK47
AR-15
Beretta 92 9mm
Magnum Research Baby Eagle Compact 9mm
H&K USP .45 ACP
1911 .45 ACP
S&W M&P 9mm
S&W .357 revolver
Mosin Negant 91/30 x2
Benelli M2

What is a "must have" gun that would fall in the sub $1,000 range that is not represented in this list? I am sorry if this question does not seem specific enough but I have only been really heavily into guns for the past 9 months and have a LOT to learn. Thanks for all your comments and wisdom!

As a side note, It may be hard for me to respond to this thread in a timely manner. I am a junior nursing student and with finals and last minute tests coming up, i have very little free time. Thanks

Some AR-15 derivative. Bushmasters and others can be had @$600 and make a good comparison to an AK.

A Ruger 10-22 with a couple 25 round Ruger mags. Nothing is better cheap fun than semi auto 22s with big mags. Get it and a brick of 1000 rounds.

A couple of pump action Mossbergs. Pump shotguns are fun. I know the M2 sort of covers this.

A big revolver. .357 is medium sized. 44 mag is fun, but expensive.

Any of those would work.

You need a double barrel, double trigger 12 gauge that can handle 3"-3.1/2" shells and let both barrels of slugs off at once. :D

Or a cannon.

Also, tannerite (exploding rifle targets) is always fun (if you're sober).

I would get a pump shotgun as well. Proceed to watch melons explode.

If your feeling real crazy, a S&W .500? Just close to $1k though.

Tannerite. You need Tannerite for a real bachelor party.

This would be my choice...too bad it isn't allowed....

I hear you there, being an engineering student I am in the same time crunch. Best of luck on your exams, and congrats on the huge commitment! (I mean the marriage, not the commitment to firearms....I think...;))

Also, find some place that allows Tannerite. Shooting at friends' > shooting at a range.

.500 magnum for sure!

i got a chance to shoot one at my bachelor party and i tell you what.....that was a B-L-A-S-T!!!!!

Turtle, please note the apostrophe, signifying possession and the implication that you are shooting at a place that is theirs. Please also refrain from grammar corrections on an informal medium such as this. Thank you.

Kel tec plr-16. You can pick em up for 500-700 bucks and they are always a kick to shoot and an attention getter. Its basically kel tecs version of a ar15 pistol and shoots 223/5.56

I know it's a sacriledge to not suggest buying another gun, forgive me. It seems like a pretty fun arsenal to me. Sure, we can find gaps but we'll always be able to do that.

I'd put the money into PILES of ammo and the most reactive targets the place allows. Maybe some extra magazines for a few of the guns short on 'em so you can make sure the music never stops.

I think it's pretty much a given that if you are having a bachelor party at a range you need to have scantily clad women shooting guns. With proper eye and ear protection, of course.

If time permits, get suppressors for some of the guns you already have. Few peoole get to shoot suppressed guns. Perhaps a rifle and a pistol.

Sounds like fun. Enjoy your party, and, needless to say, I'm hoping there won't be any alcohol involved before you go to the range. Best left till later.
