Background check mandatory 3 day wait

I got mine back in about ten minutes earlier this week. I took off from work early to pick up the latest purchase so it was between 3-4 PM. Usually, I'm doing it between 5-6 PM and there's about a 45 minute wait. LGS thinks its due to shift change.

Yes, in some states having a CCHL allows a NICS shortcut. Here in Arkansas we have the same benefit. I have not confirmed, but I think it may be related to the type of background check we go through to get the CHCL. In Arkansas it includes an FBI records check with fingerprints submitted.

We in Illinois have mandatory 3 day waiting period, with the background checks. I've not had any delays, other than the 9 month wait for my illegal FOID renewal.

And up until recently the wait for long guns was 1 day.

Was that 9 month delay do to the "covid" BS?? I know that during that time the state allowed people to pay for their renewal online and use their expired card as long as they had to. Same with concealed carry cards...took them 10 months to replace my card. I retired and got the * out of there just last year.

Not here we just fill out the Form 4473 they call it in & we get approved then walk out the door with our gun.
I had the NICS check delay for about an hour one time but that was the only problem I've had.

Same here. 2 weeks ago it took 20 minutes for a background check to clear and took the gun home. So glad to finally reside in a free state.
