Bad day with new shotgun, or "I got Remy 870 blues"

I had the same thing happen to me on a Benelli Nova, but on the 24th round trap shooting. I got the round out with a knife, but sold the gun.

I had run a boresnake through it with some Hoppes, but maybe that wasn't enough.

New guns are so much more complicated than my well-worn 50's-era Wingmasters.:)

Give the gun a good cleaning and oil all the proper spots like everyone is telling you. Also, I would have kept the Wingmaster since it's probably a much better gun than is made today.

Curious

What are you using a 12 ga with 18" bbl for that would put it through hell and back? It's pretty much a home defense weapon from what I know. Always hang onto those wingmasters, they're a great gun. I hope you got a decent buck for it.

A new Remington having quality control problems, No Way! Some will tell you that is not possible.

Check the chamber some Express have rough chambers with tool marks. Don't blame the ammo this is a Remington it should feed & eject all types of factory ammo except mini shells. You should not have to flex hone this shotgun. Send it back to Remington. They should pick up the shipping cost, S&W would.
