One of my clients has commissioned a set of bloodwood grips for his Ballister-Molina 11.25mm. The factory grips are waaayyy different from 1911 grips... screw hole size and spacing are different and the grips are screwed directly to the frame without using bushings. The factory screws have a shoulder that stops screw travel but it leaves the screw heads standing proud of the grip (I prefer flush or slightly recessed) by about 1mm. The screw, from shoulder to top of head mics at about .280 and I'd like to keep my grips to .25. Does anyone know of a way to adapt the screw holes in the frame (5mm) to accept standard 1911 bushings (close to 6mm)? I'd like to avoid any permanent alterations to the frame if possible. I've looked for metric shoulder screws but haven't been able to find one with the dimensions I need (5mm thread, 6mm diameter x 4 mm length shoulder, 8mm head). Or am I going to be beating my head against a wall and end up with the gunsmithing option anyway? Thanks for the help.

here are the beautiful grips I got for mine from Grips4U. The screws came from either Buymilsurp.com, or Dealer's Warehouse. The black furry thing is my cat.

Thanks for the heads up, BHP FAN. Those are great looking grips. And I'm glad you told me about the cat; now I don't have to worry about Sasquatch taking a picture of his own arm.:)
