I find myself with 10 boxes (200 rounds) 5.45 x 39 Hornady Black ammo. And no gun to fire it in.

I want to post it on Gunbroker no minimum/no reserve but need to estimate what it could cost to ship. I'll take it to either a main Fedex or UPS facility, not a franchise "store."

Just a ballpark figure is fine. I've sold stuff on the net before and then got sticker shock when it came time to ship.

There are so many knowledgeable people here, I'm sure some routinely ship ammo.

Thanks.

I don't know about Fedex, but UPS has cost me $25 to $30 depending on weight and distance. I'm in Kansas, so if you are on one coast and shipping to the other coast, then your distances and cost will be higher.

Old Info, disregard. You are limited to a total of 1 liter of volume of the hazardous merchandise to qualify for the exception. I generally take a quart Ziplok baggie and see if the stuff fits inside. The shipping box can be bigger, so you can pad it for safe shipping.

The old ORM-D marking has gone away, as of January 1, 2021. There is a new diamond label that you must place on the box.

EDIT: Now I can't find the "1 liter" volume limitation. Here is the UPS shipping information regarding the rule for shipping ammunition. It says "66 lbs." is the limit. Man, it sucks getting old.

Cost me 20$ to send 5 boxes to Arizona from Illinois this week via FedEx ground.

Thanks. I'll just put a flat rate fee of twenty-five dollars and eat the difference.
