Which gives the best bang for buck? I am looking for a self defense revolver or auto-loader for concealed carry that is relatively inexpensive. First off; revolver or auto-loader...
Considering the $400 I paid for my S&W 642 (J-frame revolver), I think it's the last gun I would get rid of.
It has been within two feet of me continuously since I bought it six months ago, save for a few incidences, such as going into the post office, an elementary school, and the courthouse where I can't carry. It's not the only gun I carry, but it's so small and light that even when I strap on a 1911 or something else, the J-frame still tags along in any of five places on my self.
I agree with the used Sig, they are actually model P-6 and were German Police guns. They can be found for around $300, 9mm and carry 8+1. The one I recently picked up has in great condition internally, had some holster wear and shoots like a dream.....
I purchased my P-6 from Military Supply as well, they are only 25 miles from me so I went to their store. They have a nice set-up there and I would trust them to ship. In my opinion I would not buy the "refurbrished" one as I did. In my opinion all they did is give it a real good cleaning. I picked up some grips on e-bay and when I remove the old ones there was a fair amount of dirt and dust. Easy enought to clean and lube but with it there I would not consider it as refurb'd. You can find extra mags for it in the classified section of the Sig Forum.
