Reposting from Facebook for you guys.

Just as I get ready to put together the video for the winners of the Everyday No Days Off - Gun Blog shirt giveaway and a video addressing companies that are selling out the gun community and culture, I get word that the Guys at 2 Vets Arms Co. who I consider good friends, received a letter from their bank stating that they are stopping their business line of credit/loan for their production orders because...

“In light of the Connecticut shootings, we no longer want to be associated with anyone in firearms”

I ask you to share this and to contact the bank and voice their opinion on this new business practice. Please Be Respectable and show them and other businesses the power we yield as a community.

If you know of any other businesses engaging in the same practices please post it on my wall

From them:

Well, our business bank just called us to inform us of their new business decision. "In light of the shootings in Conn. we no longer want to be associated with anyone in the firearms industry." They went on to inform us they are canceling our line of credit/loan for our expansion and dealing a blow to our "American Dream". Below you will find their contact info, if you feel led to call and voice your displeasure with this new business practice.

I have seen it too. I've also seen at least one video of First Oklahoma Bank employees firing a 2 Vets Arms Company rifle - They're hypocrites and denying any knowledge of the company and denying they ever had an account, loan or line of credit. Dishonest and disgusting.

If this is an OK bank then it is far more important for OK residents that might actually be depositors in the bank if we want the greatest impact.

I'll reiterate that it is vitally important to point out that 314 Million Americans didn't murder the children of Newtown and it is completely irrational to treat all of their depositors and customers as if they were criminally insane monsters who would commit such a heinous act. If someone was harmed in a bank robbery would they want banks to be treated as if they were the criminals who committed the crime?

I assume that they will also be cancelling their guard service and any armed transport. :scrutiny:

Pour out the letters and phone calls and do boycott. That's the only way to handle companies like this anymore.

We have been asked to take the post down, for those of you who do not believe us, that's fine, We were referred to First Oklahoma Bank, and prior to today have had good luck in working through our line of credit/loan for our retail contract. We received purchase orders on 31 Dec and forwarded them to our loan officer for processing. This morning was when we received the notice. Supporting the 2nd Amendment is only part of the issue. Honesty is what bothers us the most. Denying they have had any contact with us, and attacking our credibility bothers us. They came to our shop, inspected our facility, and even fired our weapons.

We are awaiting a call back from the President to resolve the issue we had. Multiple people said they said we had not been told no and we didn't have any connection to the bank. Which is a lie we have been working with this bank for a while for a loc/loan. All was well and ready to go we received a call and was told that we wouldn't be getting the loan due to our business being in the weapons manufacturing. Once we resolve the issue we will get an updated.

Contact the National Shooting Sports Fondation (NSSF).

They are considered to be "the official" lobby for the Firearms Industry, and have encountered this problem - or ones like it - before. I believe they can help you find another bank that's more interested in banking then guns. Incidentally, they are located in or near the town where the shooting took place. It's a small world.

Are there no other banks in the great state of Oklahoma? I would not even bother trying to pressure them; they are bigots and liars and they won't change.

It should not be hard to find another bank that will be happy to have the business.

Pour out the letters and phone calls and do boycott. That's the only way to handle companies like this anymore.

And it won't actually accomplish anything other than have gun owners waste their time unproductively on a cause that will fail just like all the other boycotts.

If you are going to write letters, write your representatives. All this garbage with boycotting businesses has proven to be a utter failure time after time after time and it results in a lot of wasted effort that could otherwise be spent accomplishing more important tasks.

This is no different than in the south during segregation. Many banks refused to lend to businesses who treated people equally. It is repugnant bigotry.

I agree. Spend that boycott/petition/letter writing time taking an anti to the range.

Thats cool, if they don't want to be associated with firearms people then every single customer that owns a guns should stop doing business with the bank. I imagine that they would lose more than half of their customers and have to close their doors if that happened.

That should happen but will not happen - not a chance.

Pro-gun boycotts don't work for a lot of reasons and when you suggest folks do thinks like trying to find a 100% pro-gun institution (would not do to move from one anti bank to another would it?) and not just accounts, but trying to refinance mortgages and such during these economic times, then you are suggesting the impossible.

Maybe you have located a bank for these people that is 100% pro gun and will refinance all their loans, a bank that is relatively conveniently located and will not cause them undue cost or hardship with such a transition?
