The following organizations have lent monetary, grassroots or some other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations. In many instances, these organizations lent their name in support of specific campaigns to pass anti-gun legislation such as the March 1995 HCI "Campaign to Protect Sane Gun Laws." Many of these organizations were listed as "Campaign Partners," for having pledged to fight any efforts to repeal the Brady Act and the Clinton "assault weapons" ban. All have officially endorsed anti-gun positions.

Sigh

I didn't renew my membership with the American Public Health Association because their journal was so full of anti-gun rhetoric, it made me sick.

Still a member of the American Bar Association, though. Ugh, it just sucks.

Mark Tyson said "What I meant was, while their official position is that the 2nd amendment does not apply to individuals, they do not actively work against gun ownership."

Mark, re-read what you just said. They VERY MUCH are against gun ownership!

By the way, here's a picture of "anti-gun" Michael Gross:

burtgummer.jpg

Incredible.

I wonder if any one of these anti-gun actors/actresses has ever fired a gun? The next time one of them is car-jacked/held-up at an ATM, etc., they'll start crying that there aren't enough Police. .....bunch of hypocrites:barf:

P.S. Here's a "bar bet": "Who were the fastest quick-draw actors? Jerry Lewis and Sammy Davis, Jr." ------ For real!

The next time one of them is car-jacked/held-up at an ATM, etc.

Won't happen cause of their ARMED bodyguards... I wouldn't need a gun either if I had one of them!

More bad news:

In the "VPC has stolen a picture of Oleg" thread, there's a link to the VPC's video. Under "Who We Are," they provide a long list: donors? members? fellow travelers? - it doesn't say, as far as I could tell. In fact, the list includes the church I grew up in  . Others might find a surprise or two there, as well.

http://www.banassaultweapons.org/who_we_are/index.cfm

The good news, from their site?

337 more days. :neener: :D

If somebody got enough gun nuts to agree not to support any of these organizations or people with so much as another cent, and tell them why, i'm sure many of them would change their tune. Problem is that we are used to supporting those companies (like AMC, i go there all the time) and a lot of those actors are very popular, that it would be inconvenient to get people to stick to it. :(

For whatever it's worth, I am not a gun nut. Wish we wouldn't contribute to the anti vocabulary... it doesn't make sense to help them along.

As for companies - I hardly ever use a 7-11 anymore, but I'll look for alternatives to others on the list.

And, as for Hollyweird folks, I've said this over and over - and now again: If they are antis, then they should NOT earn their living, etc. in any platform that has a weapon in the script. They also should turn in any weapon stashed away for fun, games, or defense. And they should off-load any armed security people in favor of unarmed details.

In essence - no person who is anti-firearms should be living off them.

-Andy

Well said ironbar. My thoughts exactly. Sean Connery comes to mind. He made his living and a fortune killing people with his Walther. Now that he is older, fatter, wealthy and retired, he thinks guns are awful, should be outlawed and that Americans have an obsene obsession with guns.

Well,I thought It would be funny if Walther offer him alot of money to do a tv commercial,to promote the Walther PPK-Sean Connery limited edition-as well as a luxuriously-finished Walther P99.

It would be even funnier,if such a commercial was to be made.:) :) :)

This thread is older than my account here.

That said, I am going into medicine. It made me ill to see all these organizations I will likely be forced to join supporting this crap.

"Louis Anderson - Comedian"

Shame. He was funny:( .

"Richard Dean Anderson - Actor"

I never liked Macgyver anyway & SG-1 was so cliched that I just wouldn't waste an hour of my life watching another one.

"Maya Angelou - Poet"

I never liked her poetry anyway.

"David Arquette - Actor"

That's odd seeing as how he starred in "Dead Man's Walk" as a texas ranger who fought indians & mexicans in a attempt to seize Santa Fe from the Mexican's.

"Ed Asner - Actor"

I'm now glad I never went to Disney World.

"Alec Baldwin - Actor"

"Hunt for Red October" anyone? How about hitting paparazzi:rolleyes: ?

"Bob Barker - TV Personality"

No more "Price is right" for me:( .

"Drew Barrymore - Actress"

I didn't think she was all that pretty anyway. A horrible actress as well.

"Candice Bergen - Actress"

Never liked her anyway.

"Richard Belzer - Actor"

Wait, doesn't he play on Law & Order as a cop with a gun!?

"Tony Bennett - Singer"

Never did like his music.

"Kevin Costner - Actor"

Didn't he star in "Open Range" "Postman", all movies with a bloody gun battle?

"Sean Connery - Actor"

The hipocrasy of this man is too deep to measure. I will never go see another movie with him in it.

"Matt Damon - Actor"

The Jason Bourne series anyone?

"Michael Douglas - Actor"

"Basic Instinct"?

"Andy Garcia - Actor"

It's a shame. He was a very good villian in the new Ocean movies.

"Will Rogers, Jr. - Actor"

:what: The offspring of a legendary cowboy is a anti-gunner?!?! I'm glad his dad isn't around to see him now.

"Jerry Seinfeld - Actor"

Shame, he was funny.

"Britany Spears - Singer"

Didn't she recently say that SHE needed a gun?:banghead:

"Barbra Streisand - Singer"

Horrible singer. Her voice sounds like someone started their car with a cat sleeping on the manifold.

"Eli Wallach - Actor"

Didn't he star in "The Godfather", a VERY bloody movie?

"Andy Williams - Singer"

No more "Moon River" for me.

"Catherine Zeta-Jones - Actress"

True shame. She was the very definition of beauty.

Ah vintage 2003...
Maybe but its a disgrace seeing those celebrities and organizations hating guns.Micheal Moore was an NRA member, but he is now a liberal dork.

I prefered Colonel Jack O'Neill to the actor who played him-Richard Dean Anderson.I mean Richard must of had fun shooting those lovely guns on Stargate SG1,during stressful hours of filming.
