Barrel cool/wow

Used the "barrel cool" chamber inserted fan today at the range....absolutely fantastic!
Benefits include:
-had dramatic impact on cooling barrel on both 700 30-06 and model 70 coyote light .243....was close to 80 and it took a few minutes to cool the barrel down after 3 shot groups.
-small so it fits into range case very easily
-extremely easy to use
-tube it came with was long enough to cut to the specified lengths for both long action and short action.
-works in both ar's and bolt action.
-inexpensive ($35)
I've been using the Caldwell ar fan since they came out a year ago and have been very pleased with it, but had nothing for the bolt actions until now.
I highly recommend this for any use with extended fire where it would help to significantly reduce cool down times.

For an extra $40 per rifle, commercial ones could have their receiver face squared up with the chamber axis removing a few thousandths of metal and their barrels would no longer bend their muzzle axis in some direction as the barrel heats up. Proper stress relieving their barrels helps a little.

Have your local 'smith do that then shim the barrel tenon shoulder enough so it clocks in for correct headspace, or not at all if chamber headspace was at the long end.
