I recently picked up a T/C Pro Hunter with a 28" 7mm Rem Mag Pro Hunter barrel. I'm now in the process of picking a few factory loads for zeroing and am curious what kinds of velocity and energy increases/decreases I can anticipate for this barrel length.

Thanks!
Joe

Most reloading data will be from a 24" barrel, if i remember correctly you should get somewhere around 50fps per each additional inch of barrel.

There are diminishing returns once the barrel get too long though, so you'll just have to try and chrono your loads to see how you are doing.

28 inches will be good for a 7 mag. mags tend to get a little faster fps with each inch, over a regular cartridge. you should still be picking up speed at 28 inches. go with standard loading data, then add to it, until your accuracy starts getting funny. t/c makes excellent equipment, and I am sure it can handle a little over standard loading pressures. The big concern here I guess would be throat erosion.
