I got a very late model unfired 700 BDL in .223 for $225 :D

Downside is that it has the cheezy black plastic stock rather than the better H-S Precision type. I've found an original Remmy H-S take-off stock for $125. Sounds like a good price but dunno for sure. It's for a SA.

Will it work, or is there something else I need to know? Don't want to buy it if it's not gonna fit.

TIA.

There's no doubt but that the action will fit into the H-S Precision stock. However, unless you've got a heavy barrel on that BDL (which is doubtful), it's going to look kind of funny, but you're going to have a SUBSTANTIALLY free-floated barrel. If you decide to give it a try, just remember to torque the action screws @ 65 in/lbs.
