I went into the main store in Springfield MO today and was looking for Handgun ammo. When I found it, I was shocked to say the least! The ENTIRE handgun ammo section was smaller than the chewing gum section at most gas stations. They did not have 9mm Makarov which suprised me. I had a "What the French Toast" moment. The rifle and shotgun ammo selection was comparable to Walmart. BUT they will happily sell you a $4700 .22/.410.

Bass Pro is rather an odd bunch in the reloading section too....all the primers are broken down into 100 count packets. Not a good place to shop if you're buying in bulk.

Just where I happen to buy my ammo most of the time...

I love Bass Pro, but I find their firearms and ammunition seem to be disproportionally expensive most of the time.

That damn beef jerky on the way out the door gets me every time though

Our local Bass Pro has a good selection of pistols and rifles. Most of the time they're less expensive than Gander Mountain, but more expensive than other local shops, or online. The downside to purchasing a pistol there is the inability to test the trigger given that they all have trigger locks in place and store policy prohibits them from removing them.
