ok, I know they will be cheap. That said, does anyone know who makes them, and can offer any insight to their performance? I read a post from my search that said Simmons, another said Bushnell. Regardless of whomever makes it for them is it of the same quality as their own production they put their name on, carry a warranty, and or cost less?

I was looking at putting a Simmons 3x9 or other similarly priced scope on a Marlin 60. I'll looking for input on a recommendation for that as well. I am intending to put better glass on my CZ Special (someday), unless I stumble upon a good deal or the Simmons is (or whatever) turns out to be decent.

thanks in advance!

When possible, I try to buy store brand. The reason is they (Bass Pro, Cabela's, Ect) do not make the product but they contract through a major company. Though they are typically cheaper than the name brand, they are otherwise identical. Find out who the contract with and you should be fine.

well I went there adn bought the Simmons scope. They didn't have anything similar, so well see how it works. I think it will be fine, can't wait to get it on and try it out.

BassPro house brands are usually good quality, they contract the work out to top manufacturers. I have no experience with their scopes, but I have a bunch of their fishing rods and reels.

A .22LR won't prove much challenge for your optics. If you think the scope seems O.K. you should buy it.
