It seems like the AK47 market is 3 tiered; the low tier of I.O./Century/Zastava/etc. followed by the mid tier of Arsenal/Vepr and finally the upper tier (semi-custom) guns like Rifle Dynamics and Krebs.
My question is where is the Colt/BCM equivalent in AK? By that I mean who makes a high quality yet relatively affordable ($800-$1100) AK with the same kind of quality control and attention to detail? I know many will say Arsenal but I've read quite a few threads with people who've had canted sights and other problems that should not be present on a $1000 rifle (at least not with any frequency).
Does such an animal exist? I think not, and am wondering why.
