I went up into the hills today, took my chronograph for some testing, then hid it afterwards and went wandering/scouting for hunting. Found some interesting new spots and a pretty big Elk antler.

But this is about the testing, so here it is.

It was 66 Degrees, partly cloudy and a little windy. Chrono was 13' away, + or - 1'.

The gun was my G23 with KKM .357 SIG barrel of 4" in length. Bullets were Speer 125gr .357 SIG Gold Dots. OAL 1.132" - 1.135".

7.9gr BE-86: 10 shots
1359, 1355, 1360, 1373, 1366,
1367, 1344, 1356, 1377, 1378.
High - 1378
Low - 1344
Ave - 1363
E.S. - 34
S.D. - 10

Not bad, but not the max charge. So here it is.

8.2gr BE-86: 10 shots
1403, 1416, 1416, 1400, 1394,
1409, 1399, 1415, 1404, 1418.
High - 1418
Low - 1394
Ave - 1407
E.S. - 24
S.D. - 8

Which I thought was really pretty good!

8.2gr on the left, 7.9gr on the right. 10 shots each at 25 yards off bags with G22 and KKM .357 SIG 4.5" barrel. Just for reference of accuracy. These were shot on a different day.

And here's the Elk antler next to my 20" Henry .357 Magnum lever gun.

Great job WrongHanded! Looks to be good results, and a healthy day outdoors.
I have to wipe out some of my powders before I go trying a different powder. But it looks like yours did good. :)

Does SD stand for social distance? If so, I think you nailed it.

Thanks! I think so too. Along the canyon, the trailheads were as packaged as I've ever seen them. But if you park on the road, and just start walking up a hill, it's easy to be alone.
