I am no expert but, I believe it is another version of Bullseye, something like Power Pistol. I kind of wish they would concentrate on keeping the existing powders in stock during these trying times. On the other hand having more choices is not a bad thing if we can get them.

Ya read somewhere its supposed to be a low flash power pistil? Time will tell.

I'd like to think this new product has been in development long before the shortage started.

Me personally, Power Pistol is my go to 9mm powder, and I'd welcome a new product with less flash that was formulated especially for 9mm.

Some of my searches turned up that BE stands for Bullseye, that this is a variant of Bullseye. Also, that some of the powder we can't buy, used by the big manufacturers in 9mm was refered to as BE-86.

I'd love to see a recipe with 9mm velocities.

I saw some in a small gun shop several weeks ago and couldn't figure out what the heck it was for. I asked the owner, and he said he didn't even know how he ended up with it in his shipment.

Sounds like you should go back and see if its still there and give us a report on it :)

I think I read somewhere Power Pistol was once named BE-87 (or BE-85 maybe) before they released it as Power Pistol. Sorry I can't remember where I read that but if it's somewhere between Bullseye and Power Pistol with the addition of a flash suppressor it will be a very useful powder for making SD handgun ammo.

Be 86

I emailed Alliant about BE 86 around a week ago. I haven't received an answer yet. I too am anxious to try it for 9 & 40. They probably realize they shouldn't have bragged it up so much. I guess it is a marketing move.:banghead:

The better marketing move would be to actually have data for it before it ended up on store shelves...
I agree, the Dixie chicks learned the hard way about pissing off there customers.
Not that it is relevant, I just sayin take care of your customers.
