I am looking at two entry level AR15 rifles, and am interested in any first hand information on the Bear Creek Arsenal or a Delton DT AR15. This will be my first rifle in this platform, and I am NOT interested in building my own at this time.

Either one of the two would run me less than $550 including delivery and local transfer costs, and that is right in my budget for this firearm now. I understand that 'you get what you pay for', but an inexpensive model will be fine for my intended use of recreational target shooting.

Any feedback or info on these two specific models will be much appreciated.

i know kinda off the question but Windham weaponry makes an AR-15 for around that price and i have heard good things about them.

I have had bad experiences with delton, and the other, bear creek arsenal never seen or heard of that one.

Ive been around a few delton builds and they all were very reliable and several were sub moa out of the box. The two most accurate were middies one was a lightweight the other was the heavy barrel, neither was chrome lined but theyboth were extremely accurate even without being free floated.

Try looking at psa. You could do a complete lower and complete upper for about the same price. If you have to save a little longer. I know it's just a cheap toy but if it doesn't work right it doesn't matter how cheap it is.

I have a Del-ton that is sub MOA out of the box and seems to be if good quality.

Both of my Del Ton rifles are accurate and totally reliable, what more can I ask? Many thousands of rounds have been fired and they just chug along, Del Ton does not make a cheap rifle (less expensive--yes).

I've not shot one but people say there need rifles are good. They have open house days sometimes and you can buy one out the door for 250$.

I second the idea of getting a complete upper and complete lower from PSA. One of the chrome lined ones. It will have better QC and materials than either of those others, and the price would be real close. Buying stuff on sale from them, I put together a whole mil spec M4gery for about $480 a few months ago. I'd take it any day over anything DTI or BCA puts out.

Complete upper/lower from PSA, no building involved. If you can open the box, your capable of pinning it together. Second to that, the S&W Sport is also nice for the budget.

I'd recommend looking at the new Ruger rifle that was recently released (not the piston model). People indicate they are purchasing them for $575 and the reviews are all good. I'd rather rely on a big name like Ruger with excellent customer support and all components manufactured in-house. Or so I've read.

The main difference is going to be QC, the barrel and bolt and bolt parts are the most critical and usually the only difference. And those are the parts with difference specs. Everything is made to the same specs generally speaking. The main difference might be testing and QC. And only by a few factories.
