Wow... that's layin' it on pretty thick, aint it? And wouldn't a bears head be almost level with it's shoulder? :D

I saw something about this on National Geographic anyway... the picture is enhanced, and the story is fake. That bear was tagged legally, and wasn't attacking or charging the hunter... the part about the rifle being emptied into the bear is a new one on me. It's also not anywhere near as big as they said, although it is a pretty big bear... IIRC the kid said it was the 3rd largest ever shot on the island, but not a world record by any means.

I think it was on the special about "Hogzilla", but I'm not 100% sure. Hogzilla also turned out to be a fake.
 
Moral of story:
In Alaska, unless you have a big gun and know how to use it, you are considered a potential meal too.

Either way it’s still nearly as tall as two horses!

Killed it with a semi-auto 7mm mag?

Where can I get one? I've got a Howa bolt-action 7mm Rem. Mag, but would love one in semi... I've seen the COBB .30-06 semi auto AR type rifle... wonder if it's like that.
 
man, just when i thought id seen the last of that story. been a whole 4 months since iv seen it.
