i was watching an episode of man versus wild from season 5, its the episode where he is in georgia in eastern europe. i noticed at the part where he is eating the chick fetus that the knife he pulls out is not the custom bayley knife he used in older episodes.

any idea what knife this is? it reminds me of the gerber lmf2 but doesnt have lashing holes and looks to have longer serrations

i know hes has a knife out with gerber now but it is even smaller than the lmf2 so any ideas what kind of knife it is
 
As usual we have a tv celebrity selling out for the endorsement dollars. The Gerber is not nearly the quality of the custom he used (even tho it was greatly overpriced itself). But I suppose the Gerber works well enough to open the bag of cashews from the mini-bar.
 
Quick note on "survival" knives... According to a survival site I was reading earlier today... Les Stroud used a Buck 119 on Survivorman... NOT some $200+ custom...

I have not confirmed this personally, but read it several places "on the internet"... YMMV
 
I have it on good authority that one of the camera crew guys loans him a Ginsu knife when he really has some serious cutting to do!
