This seems to be a worthy project I think.

Beefing Up Our Troops
By Leesa Zelesky

We have a "steak" in their future because they’re defending ours
Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Patriots in the "Cowboy State" of Wyoming are at work developing a "Beefing Up Our Troops" project. Randy Stevenson, Double S Feeders, Wheatland, WY and an R-CALF member says his goal is to provide every American GI with a steak by the Fourth of July. "We’ve designed this program to send American beef to American soldiers," says Stevenson. "We owe our troops, who are defending our future, a debt of gratitude. There’s no better way for American ranchers and Americans everywhere to say ‘thank you’ than to see to it they get a thick juicy steak from home."

Stevenson says the details surrounding security and logistics of delivering frozen USA beef to troops in a war zone are being explored, but that regardless of whether the project can ship steaks directly to troops in Iraq, it's his intention to deliver USA beef to soldiers as far up the chain as possible along with sending beef sticks or jerky to the inaccessible locations "When we announced this program there were those who predicted we would fail because we wouldn't be able to get over the logistical hurdles. I've got news for those people - where there's a will, there's a way and a coalition of ol’ cowboys and ol’ soldiers should never be underestimated. All donations will be tax deductible under the VFW charitable, nonprofit status. With the wonderful support and encouragement we’re receiving from across the country, I have no doubt that we’ll be able to make this program work. Providing our soldiers with USA beef is no longer just a dream of mine; it’s a dream that’s coming true," said Stevenson.

Donations can be sent to VFW Post 3558, P.O. Box 309, Wheatland, WY 82201. Stevenson says any amount will be greatly appreciated "those $10 and $20 donations add up." The funds will be used to purchase USA born, raised and processed cattle – by American cattlemen who know quality.

"Money and love are a lot alike," says Stevenson. "If you give freely but not indiscriminately you’ll receive ten-fold. Our soldiers are already giving that much and more. Now, we need to step to the plate and make sure they know that America cares. Cowboys are a lot like soldiers at heart. We fight for what’s ours and what’s right. I’m challenging cattlemen everywhere to help beef up our troops."
