I bought a Swiss M 94 cavlary carbine at a sale Sat. and I am having trouble dis-assembling it.

I can't get the bayonet lug/mount off, and want to make sure I'm trying to do it right. I've removed the retaining screw, and depressed the retaining spring, but the mount won't slide off. Is there anything else I'm missing?
The bolt still had cosmoline in it, so I don't think the previous owner ever took the rifle apart. Could there just be crud under the retaining spring? If so, any good ideas on how to get it out?
The rifle is in suprisingly good condition, so I really don't want to do something stupid. Thanks
