Hello,

I'm looking to install a B&C Medalist on my Tikka T3 .270, but haven't found any reviews anywhere on the net (assuming it's new). As such, I have a couple of questions for those that have installed these $200+ stocks:

1) How did B&C address the T3 recoil lug system? Is it the same stock T3 lug?

2) Were there any modifications that needed to be done to the stock to make the fit? Or is it simply "drop in"?

Thank you.

I can't tell you about Tikka but added one to my Remington 700 back in December. Simple drop in and no problems. B&C is a class act.

Would I buy another B&C stock? In a heartbeat.

Dunno, but looking forward to the answers :)

Did you call B&C?
I was reluctant on contacting BC to avoid the possibility of a "perfect" answer by a sales person. By the looks of it, I just may have to do that. I'll post my findings.

Thanks Joed for your BC comment - that just reinforced what good things people been saying about the BC stocks - I read Tikka's recoil lug was not a standard design therefore stock companies didn't rush out of the gate to make a "drop in" Tikka stock.

What he said! I'd go by another B&C without a second thought!

I dropped my Rem. 700 into a B&C tactical medalist and it fits perfect. Sorry not a Tikka to address your concerns with that model, but B&C delivers a great product. It required no machining at all. shot a 1/4MOA group with it as well on its maiden trip to the range.

occasionally I hear stories of someone having problems with a B&C but it usually turns out they are using one of the cheapest stocks they make which are on par with a standard stock.

I can only say good about their products, and I have 2.

The best part of my Medalist stock, is that it really cut down on the recoil of my Savage .308! I had to do some very minor fitting to float the safety tang, but not an issue. I too, would buy another;)
If they offer the stock for your exact model, I wouldnt sweat it!

Thanks guys for the info/comments, I'm just jealous that you guys already have one. By the photo in link provided by hoghunting, it does look like there is a reverse style lug (I failed to catch that). Herky, sweet rifle! (especially the target).

B&C was the only mfg that made a composite stock for an older Sako action that I had rebarreled... I had to a lot of routing to get it to fit a #2 Taper Lilja (fat little sucker) but hey, I was glad to get it... It looks good, it feels good.. and it shoots really well... no complaints.... They make a good product from what I can tell..

Thanks Bob, I'm just surprised to hear only positive things about B&C - that's a good thing!

I'll be placing an order soon for the B&C Tikka stock.
