I came across this picture some time ago and was simply amazed. My mouth was watering for one of these babies so i tried to contact them about getting one maybe as a post sample with a demo letter but had no response to my emails. :( Has anyone ever seen this or been lucky enough to shoot it? Does anyone know of someone who could do a conversion like this? It mentions the 1911 being full-auto which leaves everyone but the class 2 manufacturers out but hopefully a semi-auto version would be possible for the masses to play with :)

The link below has a good bit of information on this pistol as well as several other neat creations this guy made.

Ummm...hate to break it to you, but that pic is a joke - there is no such thing as a beltfed 1911.

Considering a 1911 mag has a stiff spring to shove the rounds up, and a belt doesn't........I have to call bsflag.gif

I remember seeing "1911 belt fed conversion instruction" manuals in shotgun news pre-86 with pictures of the guns. Don't remember if they were select fire or not, or how well they worked. They also had manuals for converting pump shotguns to belt fed as well. Seems very impractical for a pistol but a neat range toy.

Looks like he's just holding a belt in his hand behind the gun. He's just making it look like its belt fed. Looks pretty real at a glance but keep looking and you can tell its fake.

THATS one of them thar "bottom feeder full autos" that you caint have in DC!!!!!!!!!! Never thought i'd see one!!

BS at first 100 millisecond glance.

But this thought amused me 200 milliseconds later: "Gee, if it's not a magazine, wouldn't that screw up all the high-cap magazine bans?" *tee-hee*

ok i want to know how RONDOG did the BS flag.
If the forum does not have the smily you want, you can do an image link to a gif file that you ahve available online. If you look, you can see that the bsflag is saved in a photobucket account and he wrapped [ img ]http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b150/rinselman/smilies/bsflag.gif[ /img ] tags around it.

Yeah, and once you chamber the first round, say good-bye to the rest of the belt as it falls out of the mag well. Not to mention the links fouling things up.
