Belt holster used as tanker

This might seem silly to some, but here goes.

I don't carry regularly but I'm looking for something to carry pistols around the farm.

Does anyone use a belt holster, attached to a belt or briefcase strap through the loops, and carried over the shoulder while hunting/hiking.

I'm looking at the tanker holsters, but I'm...ahem...kind of full figured and I want to wear it outside a jacket. Additionally, something like that described above would allow me to use one strap with my military makarov holster, my 1911 holster, and my S&W 22 revolver.

I can't believe I'm the first one to think of it, but I don't see it mentioned on any of the forums. Has anyone tried this and, if so, can you give me any advice?

If the holster fits your weapon snugly, you'll have a tough time drawing with one hand.

Also, the gun won't stay in the same place as it will slide around on the strap and move quite a lot as you bend over and move around.

You might give a paddle holster a thought or two.

Well, I decided to try out using a belt and a standard IWB holster "tanker" style. The main problems are, I need a belt about 12" bigger than my waist size or it doesn't fit very well, and, as mentioned, the holster slides around a bit. Also, even with the holster tilted as far as it can possibly go, it still has the gun pointed at an upward angle, so it's "hanging" from the holster. It would definitely fall out if I were using a leather holster instead of a kydex one.

I think you'll just need to get a tanker holster which will fit all 3 guns. Uncle Mike's makes a bandolier holster, which is similar, for about $40-50.
