Does anyone use a nylon belt for CCW? Something like a rigger's belt? Looking for a thin yet strong belt to CCW a Ruger SP101. My current carry belt has gotten too small and I need to get a new one that hopefully isn't too thick to avoid printing but supports the gun nicely. Also wanting one that is comfortable to wear.

Thoughts?

I used the wilderness tactical as well, it was a nice belt and was plenty stiff enough for carry. Unfortunately I came to hate the Velcro on my belt. I am not a big fan of Velcro on anything, maybe it stems from my growing up through the early 90's and the Velcro wallets of the era becoming a social stigma.

Went back to a newer bullhidebelts.com belt and haven't looked back.

I am not a fan of Velcro either. Really irked me when the Army went to ACUs and had Velcro closures on the pockets. To the point where I rarely used most of the pockets unless I really needed to. Unfortunately, it seems the most common type of closure on a nylon belt is either Velcro or some type of clasp to build friction between layers of nylon or tubular webbing. Another kind of belt I am also not fond of.

I just got a KORE nylon belt, after they were out of stock for months. It will primarily be used as a work belt so it will get put through its paces. Have only worn it twice so far and I am rather impressed for the moment.

If you can live with velcro Bison Last Chance Heavy Duty is a bit more affordable than a Wilderness tactical. Not quite as stiff being a 3 stitch instead of 5 stitch which I personally found more comfortable even when carrying. And the big thing is the buckle is aluminum rather than steel that makes the belt much lighter.

I have a Klik belt that's double layered and does well for me. At first I thought it was overpriced and gimmicky, but after using it for a few months it's become my favorite belt, if I'm carrying or not.

I have a Wilderness Frequent Flyer and a 5.11 belt (knock off of wildnerness tactical) but I didn't like the long tail taking up so much real estate on my belt (I am a skinny dude).

I have been using a Grey Ghost Gear cobra buckle belt for a few years and like it quite a bit.

If Alonso defense ever gets its stuff together they have one called the Emissary belt that looks like a winner.

My next one will probably be an Ares Aegis belt.

Don't center the buckle. Move it left or right, depending on your "handedness".
Yeah I get that.

Because I am sorta in between sizes the small is too small and the medium is almost cinched down all the way.

Sometimes I just take the take and put a hitch around the belt with the tail going down. It works and locks the buckle for sure.

You must be talking about the 5.11 belt, as the Wilderness belts are size specific, as in inches, not S-M-L-etc.
I am.

My Frequent Flyer from Wilderness is an outstanding belt, but I did order a bigger one than I needed. It was my first real gun belt purchase and I thought IWB would take more of the belt than it actually did.

Since it's a nylon belt, can't you just cut it to length and re-singe the edge? That's what I did to shorten the long tail on my klik belt.

Well, its not nylon, but another non leather option is the Lenwood Conveyor. No first hand experience, but a very nice price...black only.

I wore the wilderness belts for over a decade with my 5.11s and after the one separated at the Velcro and the nylon and I drove to their store nearby at the time in Phoenix and they refused to repair them I searched and found the Ares
Gear Ranger belt in 07 and then I picked up an enhanced one. http://www.aresgear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=74
Truly a very high quality belt, I've been wearing it daily for 9 years now. I also have several Bullhide double stitched belts that are excellent https://www.thebeltman.net/collecti...tched-quick-ship-dual-layer-bullhide-gun-belt
& two 14oz steel lined Gorilla leather belts that are perfect for carrying a full size 1911 w rail and 2 -spare mags without sagging http://gunbelts.com/ for when the Ares Gear belts are not quite the "correct" appearance

I like the Kore belts after looking at all these links. An economical belt, but it is unique and seems like it will do the job. For 1 belt for all-around use (second to follow sometime) what is y'all's pick: black or brown?

For dress occasions, they say belt color should match the color of the shoes. Now that I'm retired, I only wear jeans and tennis shoes or boots, so personally only purchase brown. But at my age, I could care less if someone tells me the combo does not match.:what:

My wife and I have been using Anson belts. Their 1.5" concealed carry belts are fantastic. I carry a Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II OWB, and I don't even notice it. Available in leather and nylon with a stiffening layer for the concealed carry version.

I've used other custom carry belts, but these are the only belts for me now.
